Bala is a qualified Chartered Accountant, and has over 25 years of experience in the industry. He is a veteran of Unilever, where he has successfully completed wide ranging projects in India and Europe in finance, strategy, and supply chain in 17 years. He also headed the commercial function of Kimberly Clark Lever, and represented HUL (Hindustan Unilever) in this Joint Venture.
At ACT, Bala leads the blue print of strategic business plans, directs all business vertical heads to define their operating roadmap, personally oversees acquisitions under ACT, and is the first in command to drive 'the ACT Way' value system across all its operations.
He has used his experience of setting up new businesses and managing large portfolios of well-known brands across the globe to establish ACT as one of the leading digital cable and Broadband service providers in India.
Since he took charge as CEO in 2008, Bala has grown ACT’s business manifolds. He successfully integrated multicultural businesses, introduced cutting edge services such as HDTV, IPTV and high speed Broadband through fiber, created benchmark standards in customer service, and helped ACT’s 4000+ employees and associates to see a common vision for sustainable growth across its business entities.
Bala is passionate about developing people, and loves to spend his free time amidst nature and children. His hobbies include travelling, and taking up small and big business initiatives of multiple dimensions.
