Step back and look at your current living room coffee table. Chances are, you have a bunch of different remotes lying around: one for the TV, one for the media stick and one for the set-top box. Even if you own a brand-new smart TV, the simple act of turning on the system, choosing an input source, selecting a user profile, and adjusting the audio channel requires a frustrating sequence of button presses.

For many family members, especially children or elderly parents, simply trying to watch a basic live news channel or a cartoon show has become an overly complicated technical challenge.

Why does a modern smart home setup still feel so difficult to access? The problem lies in a lack of central integration. While television hardware has advanced to stunning 4K displays, the user interfaces and remote designs have become cluttered, complex, and unorganized.

The Growing Friction of Living Room Hardware

This digital friction directly impacts how Indian families interact with their homes. With high-speed fiber broadband powering remote work, online learning, and multi-device streaming across the country, the living room television has officially transformed into the central hub of the modern household.

However, secondary market research by Accenture highlights that 69% of consumers in India find the day-to-day process of navigating across different smart devices and television interfaces to be moderate to highly frustrating.

The issue is that current smart home layouts are not designed for simplicity. Switching between a live sports or news broadcast, a downloadable game, or an OTT application shouldn't require changing inputs or managing separate device settings. This technical friction stops users from discovering the full potential of their devices, causing families to rely on the same two or three basic applications simply because navigating anything else requires too much effort.

True innovation is about making extra steps unnecessary. Ease of access means that anyone in the family, from a five-year-old child to a grandparent, should be able to sit down and launch their favorite show in less than five seconds with zero setup confusion.
